New Apples Every Week, Fresh Apples Every Day

We had a wonderful first week of apple picking and apple selling. The first apples of the season are always delicious. The cooler temperatures last week seemed to entice people to come and pick their own-remember to pick up your postcard to get a 10% discount on all the apples that you pick throughout the season. We are excited that more apples are coming in.
Varieties of the week of August 17-24
Duchess- the best cooking apple ever! If you want Duchess come and get them right away or phone to reserve. Our friends to the south-Eden Cider- have reserved all the Duchess they can get so we are going to do a strip pick early this week. Let us know if you want some!
Yellow Transparent- another great cooking apple but also good to eat. These two apples are heritage apples that have been around forever.
Vista Bella- these very red apples are in full swing now-some tender and sweet while others are crunchy with a tartness to them. They won’t be around for long so get them while they last. Great for apple sauce.
Melba-new this week. A traditional apple which is good for cooking and eating. Just beginning so very crunchy and quite tart. Makes a lovely pie.
Sunrise-A very popular apple which will be coming in later this week. We hope to have them for the markets on Saturday. Very crunchy, juicy and quite tart right now.
As usual, at the kiosk, we have garden vegetable, frozen cider, home grown fresh and dried shiitake mushrooms from my brother’s farm, lots of beautiful pottery, Chris’ new CD, maple syrup, jams, jellies, honey, and more.
We are open 7 days a week, from 9-5. Please feel free to call at 819-876-2817 if you have any questions. We hope to see you soon!
