Apples on Weekends

We have a good supply of great tasting apples from this years harvest in refrigerated storage. Empire, Spartan, Cortland and MacIntosh-the keepers- will be available, along with fresh pressed cider, on weekends. People were still out picking in the orchard Saturday and Sunday. These apples MAY not keep as well as the ones in the fridge, but the taste is incredible. Just ask Max. img_0219

Eden Ice Cider, the Newport specialty cider company, took three large batches of cider for next year’s offerings. Last year’s batches from our apples had rave reviews and the entire summer cider batch was sold outright. We are still hoping  for a taste of that one! Have you ever felt like making hard cider? Give us a call. Happy Thanksgiving to our American neighbors and thanks to all who have come to our orchard this summer/fall.

We still have buttercup squash and garlic from our gardens, and Lynn’s pottery will be at the stand for one more weekend. 300916-006

I’ll be doing a few songs in Montreal on Saturday, Nov. 12th, for the 50th anniversary of the Yellow Door Coffee house, the longest running Folk venue in Canada, and possibly North America. Also, on Saturday, I get auctioned off for a house concert to raise money for the Massawippi Valley Health Care Centre. Time to change hats.
