Hail has hit again, and again, at our orchard. We had a violent storm yesterday, with high winds and hail pounding down again. Unlike the storm in early July, the hail was normal, small and white, but there were buckets of it. Then, today, as we were trying to recover, hail hit again, this time with tornado like winds.
The orchard and gardens were hit hard.
We will not be opening this coming weekend as we had planned. We are not sure what we will be doing but, at this point, there is no plan to open any time soon. The orchard was evaluated today and they were suggesting something called ‘abandonn’ which means just what it sounds like, abandoning the orchard this year. We are not sure that this is what will happen. But we will not be opening in the foreseeable future
Please call us, at 819-876-2817, if you would like to come for the pottery/honey/maple syrup or jams. This has never happened in the entire history of our orchard and we are hoping that it will never happen again. Thank you for your support.
UGH!! So sorry to hear this, you two! It’s been a weird-ass summer everywhere to say the least, but i have to say, it has been a REALLY tough one for you all. I am sending lots of hugs, consolation and well wishes.
Thanks, Abby, we need all the hugs we can get!
